 
Principal Consultant
SPG has an immediate opening for a Principal Consultant in our Boston
or Chicago office. Responsible for managing client accounts, you will
have overall responsibility for client recommendations and quality control
of projects. In addition, you will be responsible to deliver projects
on time and on budget, and help guide project managers with scope and
project management issues. While not responsible for day-to-day execution
of projects, it is the role of the Principal to ensure that engagements
run effectively; when/if the need arises, the Principal is expected
to play a critical overseer role.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Focus on relationship building at higher levels of an organization
and across the organization
- Develop follow-on work opportunities and close them (and/or manage
the right resources to do so)
- Mentor and coach more junior SPG consultants
- Work cooperatively with VPs, Directors, and Sales to sell new business
- Support practice management teams while developing a market-facing
expert role
- M.B.A with a focus on Marketing and/or Finance
- 8-10 years of business experience
- 7 years experience working for a major consulting firm
- Experience as a consultant in pricing, marketing, or other business
strategy
- Demonstrated project management experience, having led engagements
of ten or more people
- Experience in Discrete Manufacturing, Chemicals and Forest Products,
or High Tech & Financial Services industries
- Willingness to travel
